We are dedicated to creating a more digitally inclusive world where all children are empowered to unlock access to their education, achieve their full potential, and dream without limitations.
Sadly, when children do not have access to reliable digital education devices, internet access, and mentorship their dreams become disconnected, locked up, and unfulfilled. To help unlock those dreams, we reclaim, refurbish, and then redistribute idle devices to underserved and disadvantaged children. However, we don’t stop there. We mobilize individuals & organizations to create connections, human and technological, that amplify these restored devices into dream ignitors.

The Digital Dreams Project was founded and is powered by PlanITROI, an organization committed to changing lives with affordable technology since 2001. PlanITROI refurbishes retired devices, giving them a second life focused on conquering the digital divide. PlanITROI has positively impacted over 7,000,000 lives with affordable technology.
Take On Race Partnership
1 Million Connected Devices Now is an urgent response from the Take on Race Coalition to put one million devices with reliable internet connectivity and tech support in the hands of students of color for the 2022/2023 academic year, in an effort to close the digital divide worsened by COVID-19.
What We Do
It’s a simple approach with a huge impact. We collect idle devices and turn them into educational tools for kids in need. However, we don’t stop there. We mobilize individuals & organizations to provide internet connects and mentorship, that amplify these restored devices into dream ignitors.
How to Get Involved
We have an ambitious goal of getting 1,000,000 educational devices in the hands of kids in need before the end of 2022, and we can’t do it alone. There are many ways to get involved from contributing a device and starting a drive to making a donation and just staying in touch.
The Problem of the Digital Divide
It is estimated that 12 to 15 million households in the U.S. do not have broadband internet access. Additionally, 30 to 35% of these households do not have access to adequate digital devices to enable their kids to fully access their education. This all adds up to upwards of 5 million kids in the U.S. who are falling behind in their education and the pursuit of their dreams. This problem has been made only more severe in the time of COVID.
Ways that You Can Get Involved
Start a Team
In late summer 2020, 55+ million American kids will be headed back to school. Unfortunately, millions of those kids will be disconnected from achieving their full potential and pursuing their dreams because they lack the digital devices, internet connection, and mentorship to fully access their education.
Please “Dream It Forward” by starting a team to take part in a Virtual Device Drive. By joining together, we can collect idle devices from communities across the country and transform them into the keys that unlock the power of education for kids.
Contribute a Device
The EPA estimates that nearly 3 million tons of consumer electronics enter the waste stream every year! Not only is this an environmental catastrophe, it’s a social injustice. Many of these devices have untapped value that can be leveraged to help kids unlock access to their education, achieve their full potential, and dream without limitations.
